Cynthia Ashford is the Theatre Dance Instructor for the VPA Program at Booker High School. Cynthia is proud to be in her 14th year at Booker High School as the Theater Dance teacher and choreographer. Her training in dance began at age 7 where she quickly fell in love with the art form. She was fortunate to train with some of the best teachers from across the county including Debbi Dee, Angela Mauti, and Kim Poteet Larue, among many others. She is a certified teacher through Dance Masters of Florida and Dance Masters of America. She began teaching at age 14 and soon realized her love of dance and working with young artists was her true calling.

Ms. Cynthia is the owner of Spotlight Theatre here in Sarasota, an award-winning musical theater troupe for children ages 6-18, and she spends her summers as Program Manager in New York City with Broadway Artists Alliance where she has the honor of working beside Broadway professionals.
