How to Apply
Applications for the 2026-2027 School Year will open in October.
We look forward to receiving your applications soon!
All applications consist of two parts: an application and an audition.
1
Your Online Application
Booker High VPA uses a platform called Jotform for our applications. Your application for the 2026-2027 school year can be completed any time from October 1st 2025 through Friday May 15th, 2026. Once the applications open, you can access them by scrolling down and clicking on the artistic discipline of your choice. Please note, if applying for more than one discipline, a separate application must be made for each discipline.
Your application will include:
contact information for the student
contact information for recommenders (2)
a digital copy of most recent report card
statement about the student’s relationship to their chosen field

Your Audition
There are various ways students can audition for our programs. We have scheduled Audition Days within the year as well as the ability to audition while attending a Shadow Day Experience. Applicants can also schedule an audition with our faculty on available days. Visit our How to Audition page for more information about audition options. We also travel to our partner middle schools to hold auditions.
What does an audition look like in your art discipline? Please read carefully about your discipline’s unique audition requirements so you can be prepared to shine.
Our Acceptance Process
Acceptance will depend on availability in each program. The Booker High School Visual and Performing Arts program is the area’s most prestigious and widely recognized public pre-professional arts program, and admission is by audition only. All students must successfully complete an online application and an audition to join any of our six departments. Each department, whether performance or visual, provides information about the audition process and can be accessed on the How to Audition page.
The application components include academic competence, strong recommendations by current teachers or mentors, and, of course, demonstration of skill in the discipline of choice.
If students want to apply to more than one discipline, please reach out to coordinate.
