John teaches film, storytelling and screenplay writing in the VPA’s Film & Animation program. Before arriving at Booker High in 2017, Timpe taught in the Communication Department at the University of North Florida (Jacksonville, FL) and served as the student media adviser, including instruction in videography, editing, photography, and story.

His work there included production on the 10-minute documentary in the project, and that film won an Emmy.
